Tick-Safe eLearning Course

Together, Tick Free NH and the NH Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, Climate and Health Program are offering a unique training opportunity to NH residents interested in learning about tick-safe practices.

Who Should Take this Self-Guided Course?

The Tick-Safe eLearning Course is geared towards outdoor enthusiasts, gardeners, caretakers of young children, and anyone who is interested in learning how to protect themselves and loved ones from a tick encounter or tick bite.

Course Goals and Objectives

The goal of the course is to teach individuals how to identify and adopt evidence-based tick-safe prevention strategies to enhance their health and safety and avoid disease. The course is made up of three short sections:

  1. Background on the tick problem – Natural history, diseases, types of ticks in NH
  2. Environmental measures to identify and control tick habitats
  3. Personal Protection – Repellants, Clothing, Tick Checks, Bathing
